6 Juveniles Nabbed With Stolen SUV In Yaphank: Police
They were in a Hyundai Santa Fe stolen from Mastic Beach, along with a sedan that was involved in a crash Tuesday afternoon, cops say.
MASTIC, NY — Six juveniles were busted for being found in a stolen car in Yaphank on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai Elantra were stolen from Mastic Beach during the overnight hours between Monday and Tuesday, police said, adding that the stolen Elantra struck a parked vehicle on Neptune Avenue in Mastic at around 1 p.m. and the driver ran away.
The occupants of the stolen Santa Fe, which had been traveling behind the Elantra, also bolted from the area, but in the SUV, and officers found it northbound on William Floyd Parkway at Longwood Road in Yaphank at around 1:25 p.m., according to police.

The six occupants of the Santa Fe were charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, police said.
Their names were not released due to their status as minors.
