- The Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) and William Floyd High School Career partnered to host a job fair on Wednesday, November 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at the high school west gym to promote the benefits and opportunities of the healthcare field to students. If you are interested in participating, don't forget your resumé! (Patch)
- The MMSC Library staff will be at the William Floyd Estate in Mastic to teach all about bats. Participants will also build a bat house. A fee of $20 is asked for the supplies used in the workshop. The Estate is at 245 Park Avenue, Mastic Beach. For details, visit here. (Patch Events)

- "Suffolk is set to end its contract with RedLand Strategies, which has been helping mitigate the Sept. 8 cyberattack, but also lobbied in the past for the security company used previously to examine the county's networks, Newsday reported." (Patch)
- Police arrested Noah Green, 18, in Shirley for allegedly being involved in the shooting outside U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin's home. Officials arrested him Monday afternoon at his residence. He is facing second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree unlawful possession of the stolen property. The case is currently under investigation. (Patch)
