SHIRLEY, NY — Construction on the Crest Surf Club in Shirley is expected to start by the end of the year or early in 2023, with expected completion in 2024, Long Island Business News reported.

In a statement to the outlet, Chris Portera, co-CEO of Crest Surf Clubs, said the company has all of its approvals and the project is "ready to go."

The club, which will be located in an industrial park off of William Floyd Parkway, will use wave generation technology to create custom waves ranging from beginner to pro-level abilities in a 1.2-acre pool, according to LIBN. The complex will also have a glass-enclosed restaurant overlooking the pool, a spa, surf coaching, and a concierge, the outlet reported.
