Shirley Blaze Draws Five Fire Departments: Officials

Firefighters from Mastic Beach, Mastic, Brookhaven, Center Moriches, Ridge responded, and local ambulance companies. Arson is investigating.

SHIRLEY, NY — Suffolk police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire that broke out at a Mastic Beach home on Tuesday night, drawing area firefighters from at least five different departments, officials said.

The fire broke out at the Breston Drive East home at around 10:20 p.m., and the fire department was notified by multiple 911 calls, the Mastic Beach Fire Department said in a post to Facebook.

The homeowner reported that the fire broke out in the garage, according to police.

No one was hurt in the blaze, police said.

In addition to firefighters from Mastic Beach, firefighters from Mastic, Brookhaven, Center Moriches, and Ridge responded to the scene. Both the Mastic Beach and Mastic ambulance companies also responded.
