Planet Fitness Gym To Open At South Port Shopping Mall In Shirley
A rendering and virtual tour is expected in the coming months, a company rep said.
SHIRLEY, NY — A Planet Fitness gym is slated to open at the South Port Shopping Mall in Shirley in late 2024, a public relations rep for the company said Wednesday.
The rep did say that the company only had an estimated timeframe for the opening and it could open earlier, or the opening could be later due to unforeseen circumstances such as construction delays or other.
The gym will open in Unit 12, which is currently vacant. It is not clear how far the gym will stretch into the other units. The largest unit in the vacant block formerly held Mandee's, which recently shuttered.

The chain gym has other locations nearby in Patchogue, Rocky Point, Hampton Bays, and Riverhead.
