- Ocean Arts presents Fiddler on The Roof Jr. today at 7 p.m. Our community library and the William Floyd School District joined forces to create this production that students will perform. The plot takes us to a Jewish village in Russia, exploring the era's old traditions and social and political challenges. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students of all ages. - A Touch-a-Truck fundraiser will be held in the William Floyd High School parking lot today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, and kids under 2 are free. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. The event is at 240 Mastic Beach Rd., in Mastic Beach. (Facebook Events)
- Various restaurants near the Shirley-Mastic area are participating in the Long Island Fall Restaurant Week on Sunday, Nov. 6-13. La Buena Vista, Atlantic Seafood, Drift 82 and others will offer prix-fixe, two-course lunch and three-course dinner. - For those who enjoy media arts, a "Special Screening of Savage Land" will be played today at The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center.
