- On Saturday, April 2, the William Floyd High School Acabellas and Soundsations performed the "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the New York Riptide game at the Nassau Coliseum. The Acabellas was directed by Donia Rivera, and Soundsations was under the direction of Barbara D'Orio. The school district congratulates all students and staff involved in the event. - Book Sale For Literacy will be held on April 9-10 at the MMS Community Library. All sale profits will be invested in the Family Literacy community service program. (Patch)
- Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Company in Patchogue is closing down after over a decade of serving the community. Evan and Bill Clossen opened the shop in 2010 and announced the shop will be closed at the end of the month. A thank you message was shared by owners for all customers and friends who supported the business over the past decade. (Greater Long Island)
- Nearby News: Edward Marcuteanu, 43, was hit by a vehicle while riding his electric scooter on eastbound Sunrise Highway, west of exit 40. Suffolk County Police said that Marcuteanu, of Lindenhurst, was pronounced dead at the scene. (NBC New York)
