  1. William Floyd High School senior Ian Hua is one of the finalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor is reserved for just 15,000 students nationwide. Hua was selected as one of the finalists due to his performance on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. (Press Release Desk)
  2. MMS Community Library is promoting early literacy through laundromats. The program aims to get the community to read while waiting for laundry chores to be done. The event will be held at The Laundry Kingdom, located at 579 Montauk Highway in Shirley, on Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m.- noon. (MMSCL)

Nonprofit Paws of War, located in Nesconset, is helping to rescue "Musket," a therapy dog overseas back to the U.S. Musket is a loving dog rescued overseas and the first dog to be part of an innovative program to help United States troops stationed. The program uses rescued dogs as therapy dogs to help soldiers to cope with emotional issues. Now, Musket's work is done, and the nonprofit aims to bring him to the U.S. so he can continue his work as a therapy dog. (Patch)
