  1. A man was charged with animal cruelty in Mastic. According to the Suffolk police, Ylik Mathews, 34, did not provide food and medical attention to a 6-month-old female puppy. He is called to appear in the First District Court in Central Islip on March 8. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
  2. Smoke Shake Barbecue is opening soon in Mastic. Brandon Cahill and his father are in the business together and will serve hot smoke burgers, sandwiches, and more, along with a special family sauce recipe called "nana’s sauce."   4. Nearby News: A man was seriously injured in a four-car crash in Commack. Police are investigating the crash that happened on Sunday afternoon. Maria Kopping was driving on Veterans Memorial Highway and attempted to make a left turn on Jericho Turnpike when she hit another car, driven by Freddy Roth from Brentwood. Roth was airlifted to a local hospital to be treated with serious injuries. (News 12 Brooklyn).
