  1. A Mastic man is accused of attempting to rob a bank in Deep Park. The incident happened on Jan. 13. Dominic Scotto, along with Adam Postiglione, entered the Chase Bank and demanded money from the teller. The teller refused and both suspects left the bank. Scotto and Postiglione, were arrested in front of the bank, just before 5 p.m. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
  2. MMS Library invites all teens in the community to join the "Friday Nights in the Library" community service program. All events will start at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are Silence Library, Jan. 21, Cupcake Wars, Jan. 28, and Pizza and movie on Feb. 4. Registration is required. (MMS Library)
  3. Owner of Cosimo's Cocktails and Fine Italian Cuisine, celebrates the grant of liquor license. The restaurant is located on East Patchogue and will be serving beer and wine along with delicious Italian specials. (Greater Long Island)
  4. Nearby News: A seven-year-old girl was found unresponsive in the pool at the Marriot Melville. Katlyn Pineda was found on Thursday, Jan. 13, by a family member who called the police.
