1. The gap that opened on Smith Point during Hurricane Sandy has narrowed over the past several years. But it's unknown when or if it will close completely. "In an interview, Stony Brook University research professor Charles Flagg of the School of Atmospheric Sciences said the flow of sand into and around the breach has reduced the depth of the channel through the waterway," according to Newsday. 2. New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul presented nine key points as part of her plan for a New Era for New York. During the speech, she shared her plan to rebuild the state's health care economy, improve the public safety and how to subside the gun violence issue. (TBRnews)
