- Fire Island National Seashore invites all to join the Spring Birding at the William Floyd Estate located at 245 Park Drive, Mastic Beach. Participants will observe the native and migratory birds in the meadows, woods, and marshlands of the William Floyd Estate. The event will be held on March 19 at 8 a.m. Click here for details. - Students from the William Floyd school district were selected For NYSBDA Honor Bands. Eight students had the opportunity to show their talents at the 2022 New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) past weekend in Syracuse, NY. - Gabby Petito Case: Petito's family sues Brian Laundrie's parents alleging they helped their son getaway. The lawsuit alleges that Brian told Christopher and Roberta Laundrie that he murdered his fiancée, Gabby Petito. (News12)
- A man from Shirley was arrested for robbery. On March 5, Joseph Mann, 50, of Shirley, was arrested in Wyandanch and charged with first-degree robbery after displaying a firearm to commit the crime. (Patch)
- The Town of Brookhaven features the 2022 Resident Virtual Parking Permit. The permits can be purchased online at www.BrookhavenNY.gov/Parking. Residents can also purchase it in person at the Town’s Parks and Recreation office located at 286 Hawkins Road in Centereach. (TBR News Media)

- "A 78-year-old Farmingville man —one of two believed to suffer a medical event before car crashes on Friday afternoon — was seriously injured in Medford, Suffolk police said. Vincent Alese was driving a 2020 Subaru in the parking lot of Target on Horseblock Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and it struck an unoccupied pickup truck at about 3:41 p.m., according to police." - "A pair of recent burglaries in Hauppauge and Bohemia could be connected, according to Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison. Police tell News 12 that two men broke into a home earlier this year on Enfield Lane in Hauppauge, making off with $1,600 worth of jewelry and electronics. The homeowner told News 12 off-camera that the suspects broke down the back door after attempting to get in the front and went straight for the upstairs bedrooms. According to police, they then tried to hit other homes on this block." (News 12 Long Island)
