- William Floyd High School is leaving a mark in the field of music. Kellie Tang is a senior at a Mastic Beach school and is legally blind and was one of 12 students selected among 100 applicants to perform in a piano showcase in the New York State School Music Association's All-State Festival in upstate Rochester. - Landscape equipment was stolen from a residential garage in Mastic. The house is located on Hounslow Drive and according to the police, the garage door was pried open on Thursday, Feb. 17 around 5 a.m. No arrests were made. (Patch)
- MMS Community Library features March Madness book tournament. A display will be placed in the lobby and participants will be able to vote on each week for a favorite book! The big winner will be announced on March 31. (MMSCL)

- Nearby News: Suffolk County Police rescued a suicidal man in Coram. The man was threatening to jump out of a building roof located at 356 Middle Country Road. - A woman who was delivering food to a North Bellport neighborhood was carjacked. The incident happened last Thursday, Feb. 17, the identity of the woman has not been released but according to the police, she was working in the area when three men approached her and drove off with her in the vehicle. No further details were released by police and no arrests were made. (Patchogue Patch)
