- A $224 million Forge River Watershed Sewer District Wastewater Treatment Plant planned is approved to be built in Mastic. The plant will serve 1,900 parcels in the Mastic-Shirley area and the project is estimated to be completed in 2025. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
- Police are asking the public to help locate two missing teenagers. Searches are for
13-year-old Maria Mete and 14-year-old Jackeline Carballo. They were together when left the Little Flower Children and Family Services campus in Wading River. They were last seen entering a dark-colored Subaru with Florida registration plates on Thursday, Jan. 27. If you have seen them, call the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
