1. Support our veterans at the Fourth Annual “Full Moon Halloween Dance.” The event will be held at the VFW at 437 Main St, in Center Moriches. Food, dance, costume contest and everything in between are to be expected! Tickets are $50 per person, and the fun starts at 7 p.m.(CofC)
   
2. The William Floyd High School Medical Club created paper flowers in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The act of kindness happened at the school's medical club meeting. The club is planning fundraiser events to help Stony Brook Hospital with funds for breast cancer research. (Patch)
3. Shirley/Mastic Chamber of Commerce President, Beth Wahl, announced her intentions to retire on Dec. 31. Wahl served our Chamber for eleven years. In her post, she said she would leave her position in good hands but did not mention who would be the new president. Stay tuned for future updates that will be shared in the Shirley/Mastic Patch. 4. Early voting is today in New York. Look at the NY Elections Voter Look-Up guide to find nearby locations and hours. (VLG)
