- The William Floyd High School varsity cheerleading team’s winter season ended in grand style! The team has been working hard on their performances to be able to cheer in varsity football games in the fall and boys’ varsity basketball games in the winter, as well as competitions on Saturdays. - Nearby News: A man was charged in Riverhead after violently resisting arrest, police said.
A 911 call came in about a domestic incident on West Main Street. Stanley Battle, 37, violated a stay-away order then fled the area. - Tourism on Long Island is expected to climb up as MacArthur Airport becomes busier with new airlines coming in. MacArthur could generate $276 million in tourist spending annually, according to an HIA-LI analysis, these numbers are based on the possibility of 100 full flights a day, as opposed to the current 20 flights a day, according to airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken.
