Smoke Shop Employee In Suffolk Busted For Selling Cannabis: Police

It happened in a compliance check prompted by community complaints, Suffolk police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A man was busted on Monday night for selling cannabis products at Koncept Smoke Shop on Middle Country Road in Ridge, Suffolk police said.

In the check, which was prompted by officers from the department's Investigative Unit at the 7th Precinct in Shirley in response to community complaints, four other businesses were found to comply with the law, according to the police.

The 40-year-old from Coram was charged with unlawful sale of cannabis, a violation, and unauthorized sale of cannabis products without a license, a misdemeanor.

He was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
