Suffolk Arson Squad Investigating Fire At Vacant Mastic Beach Home: Police

Its cause has not been determined, Suffolk police said.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A fire broke out at a vacant Mastic Beach home early Tuesday morning, drawing area firefighters, Suffolk police said.

The fire broke out at a home on Pineway Drive at around 5:30 a.m., and there were no injuries, according to police. The cause of the fire has not been determined, a police spokeswoman said.

An investigation is continuing by Arson Squad detectives.

The blaze drew firefighters from not only Mastic Beach, but Mastic, Bellport, Brookhaven, Brookhaven National Lab, Hagerman, and Yaphank, officials told Newsday.
