Suspect In Pickup Shot Up Property With BB Gun In Mastic-Shirley Neighborhoods: Police
UPDATE: Residents found damage to vehicle windows and/or homes between Feb. 16 at 11:30 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 1 a.m., Suffolk police say.

MASTIC-SHIRLEY, NY — Suffolk police say they are searching for a suspect they say has damaged property in multiple incidents with what is believed to be a BB or pellet gun in the Mastic-Shirley area.
Residents found damage to vehicle windows and/or homes on Musket Drive in Shirley, Wood Avenue in Shirley, and Hawthorne Street in Mastic between Feb. 16 at around 11:30 p.m. and Feb. 17 at around 1 a.m., according to police.
The suspect is believed to be traveling in a pickup truck that has a loud exhaust, police said.

Area residents were first notified of the incidents in a community alert posted on the Instagram page for the 7th Precinct in Shirley earlier this week.
Residents are urged not to approach the vehicle, report any sightings or information to 911, and to share the post to "spread awareness."
