- The Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge in Shirley will host the "Spooky Spiders" presentation on Oct. 29. All ages are welcome to participate in this free community event. Participants will learn to recognize different spiders and make a Halloween craft. (WLIW Events)
- Gov. Kathy Hochul and Rep. Lee Zeldin faced off in a debate for their election race on Tuesday. The topics discussed were abortion laws, the economy and public safety.
