William Floyd High School Cosmetology Students Share Skills With Youth
High schoolers visited Woodhull Elementary School to share basic hair care tips they have learned in the cosmetology classroom.

William Floyd High School cosmetology students recently visited Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School to demonstrate their skills and share what they have been learning! The high schoolers shared some basic hair care tips they have learned in the cosmetology classroom, including cutting, washing and braiding, and even styled some of the elementary students’ hair! The young students had the opportunity to experience first-hand one of the great Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings that William Floyd High School has to offer.

The William Floyd High School CTE program is thriving and in full swing, offering eight CTE program academies in a variety of interest areas, as well as five CTE pathways in business and technology. Graduation pathways include Accounting, Architecture, Business Management, Engineering, and Microsoft Office Specialist. CTE academy offerings include Automotive, Barbering, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Home Design & Carpentry (with electrical and plumbing), Medical Assisting, and the two newest programs, Marine & Motorsports and Certified Personal Trainer & Nutritionist. William Floyd High School CTE is helping to build the skills necessary for students to be career and college ready and have the extra skills and know-how they can take with them throughout their lives.
