SOUTHEAST, NY — Thieves took advantage of a "for sale" ad to help themselves to expensive vehicles in a Hudson Valley garage, according to police.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said that 25-year-old Percy Dickinson, of Freeport, was arrested last week, as the last of three suspects wanted for a burglary last year in the Town of Southeast.

In April of 2024, a deputy responded to a home on Briar Drive for a report of a garage break-in and the theft of two ATVs and a motorcycle.

Over the next nine months, investigators were able to track down leads, which included reviewing video camera footage in the area, and were able to identify suspects.

On July 19, 2024, sheriff's office investigators, along with detectives from the Nassau Police Department, the Suffolk County Police Department, and the Sparta (New Jersey) Police Department, arrested 27-year-old Donovan E. Slater of Brentwood, and 25-year-old Roodler A. Pierre Louis of West Hempstead, after executing search warrants at their homes.

Slater and Pierre Louis were arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court, and charged with felony second degree burglary, and three counts of felony third degree larceny. They were both ordered to wear ankle monitors and were released with a future court date.

The sheriff's office says that the motorcycle from the Southeast burglary, along with several vehicles stolen from other jurisdictions, were recovered.

An arrest warrant was issued for Dickinson, and he was picked up in Freeport, where the Freeport Village Police Department was holding him on other charges. He was taken to the Putnam County Correctional Facility where he is being held on a warrant from Sparta.

The investigation found that these suspects were responsible for multiple burglaries in the tri-state area over the last year.

Sheriff McConville praised the investigators "for their diligent work in following many leads and cooperating with other law enforcement jurisdictions to bring the case to a close."
