Cops Charge 19-Year-Old with Drunken Driving

A 19-year-old Connecticut resident is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated following a recent traffic stop, police say.

State troopers arrested Amanda Desanto of Brookfield, CT at about 2 a.m. Sunday. Officials say she was stopped for speeding on Interstate 84 in Southeast.

The defendant's blood-alcohol level was reportedly 0.12 percent. The legal limit is 0.08.

Desanto was released, pending an appearance Thursday in Southeast Justice Court.
