Cops Find No Illegal Activity in 8 Putnam Bars
The detail took place Friday night into Saturday of St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Plainclothes members of the New York State Police stopped by eight Putnam bars in Brewster, Carmel, Patterson and Southeast this weekend, and officials say they observed no illegal activity.
Underage drinking, and any other unlawful behavior happening at those establishments, was the focus of the detail. It took place Friday night into Saturday morning, and an arrest team was waiting nearby, according to authorities.
"The troopers left after no unlawful activity, including service of alcoholic beverages to underage persons, was observed in any of the establishments," officials said in a statement. "Business operations within those establishments were not interrupted by State Police during the enforcement operation."

In the hopes of reducing alcohol abuse and driving while intoxicted incidents among teenagers, the agency regularly conducts underage drinking enforcement details throughout the state.
