Deadline Is Here for Transportation Survey
Responses will be factored into recommendations for updates.

Residents looking to weigh in on the state of transportation in Putnam County have until the end of Tuesday (April 30) to do so through a survey.
The 21-question document is online here. It asks folks how they travel, whether they feel safe riding a bus, if they would support a hike in taxes for increased transportation services and much more.
Part of a four-step process for Putnam's Transportation Task Force, the survey responses will be factored into recommendations coming from the panel in June. An advisory board will then create policies and implement changes.

The goal is to update the county's transportation system, which is utilized by less than one percent of the population, and costs about $2.5 million annually, according to this report by Faith Ann Butcher in The Putnam Examiner.
Local folks sounded off on the task force's creation earlier this year.
