Deputy Makes DWI Arrest on Route 6 in Southeast
The defendant was held pending arraignment.

A 21-year-old Connecticut man is facing misdemeanor charges after police stopped him for a traffic violcation, officials say.
Deputy Sheriff Frederick Mark of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested Shane M. Wityak of Beacon Hills, CT on Route 6 in Southeast at about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release.
Mark found Wityak to be intoxicated. He charged the defendant with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors. The latter typically indicates a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 percent or higher. The legal limit is 0.08.

The Sheriff's Office generally does not release blood-alcohol levels, as they may be considered evidentiary.
