Important Dates On The 2016-17 Brewster Central School District Calendar

The beginning of the school year is closer than you might imagine.

The first day of school may be closer than you think. So, it’s time to dust off those backpacks and make some plans. To help, here are some important dates in the Brewster Central District that are worth noting:


Superintendent’s Conference Days (no students): Sept. 1, Sept. 6
Schools closed: Sept. 2
Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5
First day of school: Sept. 7
Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3, Oct. 4
Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10
Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct 12
Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): Nov. 8
Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11
Early Release/Half Day: Nov. 23
Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 24-25
Early Dismissal for K-5 students PM/Parent Teacher Conference K-5: Dec. 9, 14
Early Dismissal: Dec. 23
Holiday recess: Dec. 26-Dec. 30, Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16
President’s Day (school closed): Feb. 20
Early Dismissal for K-5 students PM/Parent Teacher Conference K-5: March 9, 10
Holiday recess: April 10-18
Memorial Day recess (school closed): May 29
Last day of school: June 22
Superintendent’s Conference: June 23
Snow days: If no snow days are used, April 19, May 25, 26 and 30 and June 23 are recess. If one day is used, May 25, 26,30 and June 23 are recess. If two days are used, it will be May, 26, 30 and June 23, three snow days makes it May 26 and June 23 and so forth.
