Obituary: Brewster Native Dies

Jean Ekstrom Saunders of Danbury, CT, died Sunday in Danbury at the age of 86.

Ms. Saunders was born in Brewster on July 1, 1926, daughter of the late Carl and Edna (O’Hara) Ekstrom. She graduated from in 1944 then worked at Bradlees in Danbury for many years before leaving and working for Boehringer Ingelheim in Danbury as a machine operator.

Ms. Saunders is survived by her son Wayne Saunders of Danbury; and her sisters: Carol Macomber and Patricia Doyle, both of Brewster, and Eloise Reinhardt of Carmel. She was pre-deceased by her sisters Joyce and Gloria.

Calling hours will be held on from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, (845)-279-3615). Funeral services and internment will be private.
