Obituary: Richard Perry of Carmel

Richard Perry of Carmel, NY, passed away Sunday September 17, 2023, in Somers, NY at the age of 82.

Richard was born August 5, 1941, in Lowell, MA, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Periera) Perry. Richard married the love of his life Elayne Marchigiani on November 17, 1975, in Daytona Beach, FL. They were married 41 years at the time of her passing. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Humble, TX. They lived there for eleven years before moving to Carmel, NY in 1987.

Richard was a carpenter for Metro-North starting his career with them at the Croton Harmon facility and then finally retired in the Campbell Hall location in 2008.

Richard was very talented and could build most anything, from building a house, a custom bookcase or simple shelving. To keep himself busy he would often have a tag sale.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Elayne, his grandson Aiden Rabb and his brothers Louis, William and Daniel Perry. He is survived by his daughter Traci Rabb of Carmel, NY, brother Frederick Perry and three grandchildren, Savannah Rabb and Alyssa and Nicolas Rosati. As well as many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be private.
