Putnam Officials Conduct Emergency Ops Drill At Golf Course
The scenario was that the county's Emergency Operations Center was inaccessible due to major flooding.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — Putnam County officials conducted a drill Wednesday activating the Alternate Emergency Operation Center.
Earlier this year, officials identified the Putnam County Golf Course as the primary back-up EOC in the event that, during an emergency, the main EOC at the Bureau of Emergency Services in Carmel was unable to function.
The drill was conducted by the Bureau of Emergency Services, and the scenario involved a severe rainfall event causing major flooding that made the main EOC inaccessible.
