PATTERSON, NY — James C. Cherry III of Patterson is accused of bludgeoning his father, James C. Cherry, Jr. to death on Sunday.

New York State police said they were called to a domestic violence incident on River Road at 3:40 p.m.

Cherry, 33, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. His father was 56.
