Southeast to Note 'Dissatisfaction' with Comcast Office Closing

Town of Southeast officials are expected to pass a resolution this evening protesting Comcast's decision to close the Carmel office.

That's according to the agenda for tonight's meeting, which will include a regular and work session beginning at 7 at the civic center on Route 22. 

The resolution states that the agreement between the town and the cable company calls for "an office in a convenient location in the town, or in the general geographical area that includes the town."

The Carmel service center will close effective April 6, 2013. Staff members in Carmel Thursday were unable to comment on the move. Patch's attempts to reach a spokesperson were unsuccessful. The company provides services in parts of Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties. 

A formal complaint with Comcast and the New York State Public Service Commission will be filed because of the "breach of agreement," according to the town.
