Here are the top stories in Three Village today:

  1. A local grandmother recently won $1 million in the New York State lottery. The woman, whose name has not been revealed for privacy reasons, first thought her son was playing a practical joke on her when she got the news. The lifelong Stony Brook resident plans to use her winnings to purchase a house, as well as put some of the funds towards college savings for each of her 11 grandchildren. (Patch)
  2. Rise and shine! Start your morning off right with a free cardio sculpt class, courtesy of the Port Jefferson Free Library. Head over to Heritage Park at 10:00 a.m. today with your mat or towel, then join Debbie Kryzminski from Fitness Figures for a series of cardio-based strength and sculpting exercises. (Burbio)
  3. Can't get enough of the farmers market scene? The Northport Farmers Market, about a half-hour out from the Three Village area, has reopened for the season at the foot of Main Street overlooking Northport Harbor. It's set to run every Saturday through Nov. 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine. (Patch)
