Three Village Students Learn About Fire Safety

The Three Village Central School District recently honored Fire Prevention Week with fire department visits to its elementary schools. The Setauket Fire Department visited buildings to teach students about fire safety and prevention, as well as the steps to take in an emergency.

The visits started off with a brief presentation where students learned about calling 9-1-1 in case of an emergency. Firefighters reinforced the importance of having an exit plan. They also demonstrated how to stop, drop and roll with the help of some student volunteers.

After the presentation, students explored a firetruck and ambulance. Firefighters got dressed in their gear to show students the equipment they use when responding to an emergency. Students were excited to learn about fire safety during this engaging visit with local first responders.
