Walsh will inherit a Division III program that this year had 12 Skyline Conference Championship Tournament appearances, two Skyline Conference Championship runner-up teams, and four Eastern College Athletic Conference appearances.

She comes to Old Westbury after 13 years at New York Institute of Technology, where she held the positions of Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Her responsibilites included assisting the athletic director in overseeing the staff and coaches, overseeing athletic budgets and scholarships, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress, and serving as scheduling and travel coordinator. While there, Walsh implemented a program that helped provide resources for students who required more academic support, thus improving retention and graduation rates.

Prior to that, Walsh also spent three years with the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference and two years with Dowling College.
