$11.6M Penthouse Tops The Upper East Side's Real Estate Deals

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — It was a busy week for the luxury real estate market on the Upper East Side, with five deals closing over the $4 million mark, according to the latest data from the Olshan Report.

The most expensive home on the Upper East Side was a penthouse on Fifth Avenue that sold for $11,600,000, the Olshan Report said.

The chart-topping condo is a full-floor, 4,661-square-foot apartment with five bedrooms, five bathrooms and one powder room located at 1049 Fifth Ave. near East 86th Street.

Built in 1928 as the Adams Hotel, the building was renovated and redesigned in the 1990s by Costas Kondylis, with interiors by Cullman & Kravis. The condo now has a private elevator, as well as sweeping views of Central Park and the Museum Mile.
