Rumble Boxing Gym Opens New Upper East Side Location

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A boxing gym endorsed by celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone and Justin Bieber has opened its latest location on the Upper East Side.

Rumble's new location on Third Avenue between East 84th and 85th streets features both intese workouts and "Instagram-friendly moments," according to a press release. The gym — which occupies an entire newly-renovated building — also houses the blow-dry "concept" Drybar in its space.

The gym first announced it was coming to the Upper East Side in May of 2017 with an Instagram post. The post teased a "late 2017" opening, but delays pushed the opening back to July 31 of this year.

Rumble specializes in group exercise classes "based on the sweet science of boxing." The workouts only take 45 minutes and are split into 10 rounds, according to a press release. Rumble's training regimen includes the use of specially designed water-filled punching bags and is half boxing boxing-based and half full-body workout.

"Rumble incorporates the best principles of the sweet science of boxing and strength training, all to help you develop that lean, strong, and confident fighter's physique," the gym states on its website.

Upper East Siders will be glad to know that Rumble isn't just a place to get fit, but also a place to rack up social media likes.

"Rumblers can expect a whole new set of Instagram-friendly moments at the new UES location featuring custom artwork and studio-specific décor, in the same vein of the urban-chic-meets-street aesthetic Rumble studios have become known for," a press release reads.

Some of the "Instagram-friendly moments" include a mural of a boxing-glove wearing Mr. T and infrared saunas, according to the gym's Instagram page.

The gym chain currently operates in New York City and Los Angeles, but is planning expansions to San Francisco, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Chicago. The Upper East Side location is Rumble's third New York City gym after opening in Chelsea and NoHo.
