Incumbent Wantagh Fire Commisioner Wins Re-Election
Jay Cohen captures 81 percent of the vote Tuesday to win a new five-year term.

Incumbent Wantagh Fire Commissioner Jay Cohen overwhelmingly won a new five-year term Tuesday with 81 percent of the vote.
Cohen captured 375 votes of the 445 cast. He is a 38-year member of the Wantagh Fire Department and ex-captain of Engine 8.Â
Cohen was challenged by Lieutenant David Goetz, who garnered 65 votes. Five no votes were also casted.Â

In the neighboring Seaford Fire District, Robert Powell ran unopposed for a seat being vacated by Commissioner Peter Mangiolino, who opted not to seek re-election.
