Many individuals proclaim that they are "addicted to food." Some report an inability to control their cravings, continuing to indulge in food that is knowingly making them unhealthyand overweight. Many of these individuals meet the criteria for addictionsimilar to those with alcohol and substance abuse disorders. The craving described is physical, yet far different than normal hunger.

Thumb sucking is a comforting behavior that begins in utero and typically lasts until ages 2-3.  When thumb sucking, commonly known as TS ends by age 4-5, there are usually no unfavorable dental consequences. Once the permanent teeth begin to erupt (ages 5-6) the thumb can have very damaging and sometimes permanent effects on the teeth and jaw.

Driving Down Main Street in Elmsford Scares the Heck Out of Me!

I live in the Avalon Green apartments off of Taxter Road. To get to a lot of places I have to drive through Elmsford. The traffic on Main Street scares the heck out of me! From the Eldorado Diner to the Burger King I am saying my prayers.
