City Of White Plains : Grandpas United Announces Annual Civic Engagement Student Awards Program

Six awards of $500 will be given this year, made possible by generous donations to Grandpas United’s Civic Engagement Awards Program. Applications can be requested by contacting Laura Montoya at the White Plains Youth Bureau. Email lmontoya@whiteplainsny.gov or call 914-422-1378.

Students are eligible to apply for an award if they are on track to graduate in June 2022, attend either a high school in White Plains or are associated with White Plains Youth Bureau Programs. Students may apply directly or be nominated by members of the community. The deadline for submissions is April 11, 2022. 

Applicants must demonstrate one or more of the following civic engagement activities – exceptional dedication to community service, be a role models to peers and the wider community, show a commitment to addressing issues of inequality and social justice, or have the ability to get others involved in the community.
