CityFest Renamed to Focus on White Plains Families

The White Plains Family Fun Fest takes place on Sunday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While the White Plains CityFest will have a new name this year, it will have the same amount of fun—if not more!

Renamed as the White Plains Family Fun Fest, this year’s event will focus on entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The party starts on Sunday, July 15 at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue, between E. Post Road and Maple Avenue.

Event sponsors—including The City of White Plains and the ,, , , , and —are helping the to pull of the event.

Kids will have the chance to play games provided by Straight A's, educational supply store, while will offer free smoothie samples.

Event attendees can mingle with costumed characters from —or take merengue, salsa, line dance and/or tango lessons at 11:30 a.m. from Viktoria Karkina and Alex Tchassov, of the documentary film “Mat Hot Ballroom.” 

At 3:30 p.m. the ’s Conservancy Theatre will perform excerpts from the theatre’s upcoming show “The Wiz.”

Other activities include arts and crafts, face painting, balloon art, snacks, a music DJ, a climbable rock wall, a magic show and a hula-hoop competition.

“This will be a fun event,” said Doris Mady, creative director for the White Plains Business Improvement District.
