While no one was hurt in this incident Levine said that he got into a physical altercation with someone who tried to rob the store 10 years ago. Police said that those who find themselves in a similar situation should safely exercise caution in self-defense.

“We advise people to use common sense and don’t oppose someone looking to steal to property,” said Chong.

Olga Bousvaros of the Westchester County League of Women Voters, whose office is also on the second floor next to Coin Mint, said when she arrived around 10 a.m. she saw the store employee very distraught.

“It’s just very upsetting,” said Bousvaros. “Who would want to do something like this to these people?”
