Drunk, Machete-Wielding Man Cuffed By Cops, Say Police

61-year-old city resident faces a slate of charges.

A spat between a father and son involving a machete on George Street last Sunday led to the arrest on a drunken 61-year-old man, police told Patch.

Cops responded to reports of a dispute at about 9 p.m.—callers told police a father and son had been quarreling, and the father had a machete in his hand.

Police responded and knocked on the home's door, where they asked—in Spanish—for the father to step outside with his hands up, reports say.

Police noted the man smelled strongly of alcohol and had glassy eyes—and said he hollered and struggled with cops as they cuffed him, receiving a small cut below his right eye.

Police then entered the house and pulled the machete from between couch pillows, cops said.
