Fire at Nicky's Pizza After St. Patrick's Parade

Merrymakers had to do without their Sicilian slices on Saturday afternoon and everything else on the menu at after a fire closed the pizzeria down during the post St. Patrick’s parade festivities.

According to White Plains Fire Chief Richard Lyman, an electric motor near a kitchen duct caught fire at 3:40 p.m. Firefighters removed parts of the roof to open up the extension from the duct to the roof in order to put out the fire, which was extinguished within 20 minutes.

Nicky's was still closed as of Monday night.
