The first day of school may be closer than you think. So, it’s time to dust off those backpacks and make some plans. To help, here are some important dates noted in the Southern Westchester BOCES Board of Cooperative Educational Services.

Superintendent’s Conference Day: Sept. 1 and 2
Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5
First day of school: Sept. 6
Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3, Oct. 4
Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10

Yom Kippur (school closed) Oct. 12
Superintendent’s Conference Day: Nov. 8
Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11
Early dismissal: Nov. 23
Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 24-25
Early dismissal/no student or staff attendance required: Dec. 23
Holiday recess: Dec. 26-Dec. 30, Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)
Martin Luther King Jr. holiday (school closed): Jan. 16
Mid-winter recess: Feb. 20 - 24
Holiday recess: April 10-14
Memorial Day recess (school closed): May 29
Last day of school: June 22.
