Need a Private Jet in White Plains: Who You Going to Call?

Doorman at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown White Plains prepared to help guests with requests large and small.

So, you're staying at The Ritz-Carlton in downtown White Plains and you need a private jet for a quick trip - right now. Who are you going to call?

For one recent guest, the answer to his problem was doorman Gary Padilla.

Hotel general manager Jeffrey Dziak said Padilla, one of 250 employees of the hotel, prides himself in being a problem-solver and doing whatever he can to help guests enjoy their stay at the luxury hotel. Dziak said that when a guest asked Padilla how he could get a private jet to take him to the Caribbean, Padilla did not flinch.

"Did gary have a jet in his back pocket, off course he didn't," Dziak said. "But Gary put on his thinking cap as we do here at The Ritz-Carlton and, not saying no, went into 'how could I fix this mode.'"

After a phone call to some friends who had other business contacts, Dziak said Padilla was able to connect the guest with a company that could accomodate his immediate needs for a private jet — and was in the air later that afternoon.

"We're going to make it happen some how, some way, that's the essence of Ritz-Carlton service," said Dziak, who along with staff at the hotel is celebrating the fifth anniversary of The Ritz-Carlton Westchester in downtown White Plains.
