Latimer Says County Is 'Rooted In Strength,' Changing For The Better
The Westchester County executive gave his seventh State of the County message Thursday in White Plains.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County Executive George Latimer gave his seventh State of the County address Thursday and declared Westchester to be “firmly rooted in strength while growing and changing for the better.”
He delivered the speech in the Board of Legislators Chamber in White Plains.
Latimer said to see the value in electing leaders who aren’t faced with scandals or conspiracy theories and who aren’t breaking campaign pledges or becoming a national punchline.

“Together, we can build on the foundation laid by those who have dedicated their lives to Westchester,” he said.

- Fifth consecutive year without a property tax levy increase
- County’s AAA credit rating from Fitch Ratings
- Seasonal suspension of fares on the Bee-Line Bus system
- Pages of the single-use food ware law
- Investment of $20 million to expand electric vehicle charging at county parking facilities
- Nearly 6,000 affordable housing units built, under construction or planned since 2018
- Tourism bringing in $2 billion in 2022
