Man Pulls Out Knife During Parking Dispute, Cops Say
City resident threatens mom, kids while brandishing blade, according to police.

A spat over a parking spot downtown escalated quickly last Thursday, when a man pulled out a knife while threatening a woman and her four children, police said.
A 32-year-old White Plains woman was picking her four children up from the YMCA on Mamaroneck Road at 6:43 p.m. on April 11, cops said, where she double-parked her car for about five minutes.
When the woman and her kids returned to the car, a 69-year-old man began "yelling and cursing at her" for blocking his car, police said. The man's tirade didn't let up, according to reports, so the woman entered her car and began phoning police.

The man then pulled out a knife—a three-inch Swiss Army blade—and threatened to slash the woman's car's tires if she didn’t move, police said, which caused the children to break out into tears.
Police arrived shortly after, arresting the man and charging him with menacing in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. The man was released on $500 bail; his car was impounded, and his knife confiscated.
