1.) VHB Expands Into White Plains
Though VHB Surveying and Landscape Architecture is packing up and moving to a bigger office, the planning firm isn’t going far.

VHB— to assist with its review of its comprehensive plan and land use regulations—will double its office space in its move from 445 Hamilton Ave. to 50 Main St.
“Our new office will allow us to serve our clients in the public and private sectors throughout Westchester and elsewhere in the state with a comprehensive range of integrated planning services,” said Tom Lucivero, VHB senior principal and northeast regional manager, in a press release.
VHB has been in New York State for more than 10 years, acquired three firms and has several offices. VHB acquired the White Plains-based Saccardi & Schiff planning firm in October. Saccardi & Schiff has severed Westchester for more than 20 years. Principals, John Saccardi, David Schiff, David Smith and Michael W. Junghans lead VHB's White Plains office.

3.) Republicans, Conservatives vs. Democrats, Independence and Working Families Parties
The White Plains Conservative Party is endorsing the White Plains Republican City Committee’s slate for seats on the White Plains Common Council and Westchester County Board of Legislators: James Ardnt, Richard Circulli, Michael Donnelly and Terence Guerriere for council, and Iris Pagan for the Westchester County Board of Legislators.
Backing the White Plains Democratic City Committee’s nominations are the Independence and Working Families parties: Council President Benjamin Boykin, Council members Milagros Lecuona and John Martin, as well as Dennis Krolian for seats on the Council. Democrats chose Legislator Bill Ryan to run to keep his seat in the 5th district. Alfreda Williams’ seat in the 8th district is uncontested. Democrats and the Independence parties are backing her.
