The White Plains Recreation and Parks Department was awarded the New York State Recreation and Parks Society's top awards. The City was recognized for its creation and distribution of the Summer 2010 brochure, and the 2010 Sounds of Summer flyer.

Recreation Leader Lauren O 'Connor received the New York State Young Professional of the Year Award; Bill Cradle, a part-time recreation employee, was given the Staff Associate of the Year Award; while the White Plains Little League was chosen as the County's Voluntary Organization of the Year Award.
Head over to Wed. May 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and enjoy a benefit for the SPCA of Westchester. Tickets are $40 and include open bar from 6 to 7 p.m., food from Giovanni's Deli in Eastchester, as well as in White Plains. 3.) Allstate Offers Safe Driving Seminar at White Plains Library
That Allstate Insurance Foundation is hosting a discussion on safe driving with a panel of experts that includes Jacy Good, a White Plains resident whose parent were killed in a crash caused by a driver talking on his cell phone. Keller Williams Realty will host a luncheon, including, for senior citizens as a part of their Red Day event. The event, which includes entertainment, is free and takes place at the on Thurs.
